Finding toys kids actually want to play with and that give them something to do beyond staring at a screen? That’s the goal. 😂
For this edition of The Toy Box by The Luxuri Edit, I pulled together five finds for different kinds of play—from counting and pretend cooking to hairstyling, RC trucks, and classic Play-Doh.
Whether you’re shopping for a birthday, building a holiday list, or just looking for something new to keep little hands busy, there’s a little bit of everything here.
1. Counting Animals Matching & Sorting Set — $9.99
First up is a colorful counting and sorting set designed for hands-on play.
Kids can sort, match, count, and organize the different pieces, making this one especially cute for toddlers and preschoolers who are starting to explore numbers, colors, and patterns.
At $9.99, it’s also the most affordable find in this Toy Box.

2. Pretend Kitchen Playset — $25.99
If you have a little chef in the house, this one is giving them their own entire kitchen inventory. 😂
The 150-piece pretend kitchen set comes with a variety of play food, cookware, utensils, and accessories for imaginative cooking and restaurant play.
It’s the kind of toy that can become something different every time they play with it.

3. Styling Head Doll — $28.78
This might be one of my favorite finds in the Toy Box. 🥹
The styling head features a Black/Brown doll with curly Afro-textured hair and accessories that kids can use to create different hairstyles.
For children who love dolls, hair, beauty, or creative pretend play, this gives them another way to experiment and create.

4. Dinosaur RC Monster Truck — $39.99
Now we need something for the kid who wants to make a little noise. 😂🦖
This green dinosaur-themed remote-control monster truck combines two childhood favorites—dinosaurs and RC cars—into one toy.
It’s the biggest-ticket item in this edit at $39.99, but it also brings a completely different kind of play into the lineup.

5. Play-Doh Fun Tub — $17.99
And we had to include a classic.
The Play-Doh Fun Tub gives kids supplies for open-ended creative play—because sometimes the toys that have been around forever are still around for a reason.
They can build, squish, mix, remake, and start all over again.

Inside The Toy Box
What I like about this group is that the toys aren’t all trying to do the same thing.
There’s learning and sorting, pretend play, hair and creativity, active RC play, and arts and crafts. That makes this list useful whether you’re shopping for different kids or simply looking for more variety in one child’s toy collection.
And with finds starting at $9.99, you don’t necessarily need a special occasion to grab something fun.
